I am new to WR and I apologize for starting my first topic with a question but I just need a confirmation from the forum experts that this cross is a fake.
A certain seller is offering it as 100% authentic piece. I gave him a friendly warning that it is a fake but that didn't change his mind, on the contrary he started convincing me how it was checked by some expert who confirmed it to be original.
Anyway here are couple of pictures, unfortunately none of the back side...
I can confirm that the piece you show is a fake. It is a poorly made one piece EK and made from what looks like a very poor quality metal. The seam lines around the entire circumference are a giveaway to it being fake too. The fact the seller doesn't appear to want anyone to see the reverse means he obviously knows it is wrong and doesn't want anyone to see the back. Have you asked for any more pictures?
The ribbon is also fake. The construction is completely different from wartime ribbons.

Like I said he didn't show the back side, which was, like Adrian said, very indicative. I am an amateur when it comes to Third Reich decorations but it was an obvious fake even to me!
I contacted the seller yesterday, couple of hours after that the order was "reserved" and today it became "sold" so I didn't had the chance to ask for more pictures.

The cross is known as the pumpkin crown fake and is
all over ebay right now. It is found with all sorts of
different hardward and with different makers marks.
