1914 ek2 with spange

saw this at the ol shop today, the ribbon for some reason looks odd to me. is there any reason the white should be stained and blackened or gone?

Hi Chuck,

The ribbon is fake and looks artificially aged.

it does look odd, there is only a couple spots where it is white. it looks like ink. the cross was real but the spange's pebbling in the wreath and in the 1939 looked abit soft. kind of looked like a possible f&b spange i had posted on the forum awhile back.

The EK is original but I really don't know about the Spange, can you post a link to the F&B Spange you posted before?

ok so here is the link of the old supposed f&b spange i had made a post for. it looks just like the spangen pictured above in this posting

There are similarities to Ralph's Deumer in that same thread. Can you see if yours is maker marked?

no makler markon spange, looks like it has large looking talons, light pebbling, not sure about the dog leg #9. looked almost the same . ive got to get better pictures .... better ones..
