Thanks to Danny I've now been able to obtain another of the last and elusive EK2s that have escaped me until now.

This is an unmarked cross, the maker of which remains unknown. A few have been found marked with an '8' for Ferdinand Hoffstadter Bonn a. Rhein but the marks are generally considered to be post war although it shouldn't be ruled out completely.

The frame and core are unique to this particular unknown maker and that's really all there is to say about it. I have no doubts this is an original wartime made cross, the quality, manufacturing, and finish is consistent with wartime production so until any turn up in a marked packet with veteran provenance this will be one of those little mysteries.

Apologies for the poor pics, I'll update them when I'm able to.

The texture on the obverse is quite rough compared to the back which is smooth and just a couple of spots of spidering.

I really like the texture and finish of both sides of the core.

That is such a beauty! Those wide flaring arms that come to sharp points are my favorite. Thanks for showing her.
