I managed to score this EKI Carton and Award Case yesterday...I'm especially happy with the cardboard carton and the various markings - B.H. Mayer Manufactured..

Hi,Glenn.
I saw it also on german ebay couple of days ago. Passed by,because I think the case is not from the cross. But the cardboard carton is in very nice shape indeed
I have noticed in the past few months there's been a lot of cases,cartons,envelopes coming up in the market...that makes me a bit concerned.

Shouldn't there be a recess cut into the felt for the hardware ?

My example did , it also carried the cross outline on the lid .

The Two items were purchased together, but weren't advertised as being a matching set...I have good use for the Case and the Mayer Carton is most certainly not seen out there very often...thanks...

I agree, the liner of the case is not for an EK but the rest of the case may be. I don't believe they were all marked on the outside..
I often pick up items with the intention of matching them up with something else at a later date.
Often, I can not afford a set together but, I may be able to if I buy them separately.

I agree with You,and all of them were not marked on the outside.
But as I said, I think this etui is not from EK1. I might be wrong...
