    Hi all,

I recently came across this item on my travels through Europe. Can anyone determine whether this is genuine or fake? Also does anyone have any idea of the costs of these, no manufacturer logo? Many Thanks,

    Hello Garry,

    Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately, I believe this cross to be a one piece Eastern European fake. I hope it was not too expensive.

I wouldn't be so hasty guys. Remember, an Iron Cross is constructed of 3 pieces: 2 outer Silver sections, and the Iron core in the center...like a sandwich.
Look at the rim to see if you can find a seam. It will be very fine, but it will be there. Also, take a magnet and make sure it doesn't attatch to the silver part, only to the black center. If so, you have a winner. I've seen this pin before. In fact, you'll see a cross for sale at "RegimentalDepot.com" with the same pin.I wish you the best of luck...tell me how much you paid for it please. GLENN

At least what I don't like is a black finish. But I can't say nothing about the back side
