Hi Guys, please take a look at this and give me your candid thoughts.

I am not an EK1 specialist unlike some of you guys.

Note the kink/bend the the bottom arm of the cross? Have you seen this before?

Also I cannot seem to match the core to Deumer going by those shown on the EK DNA page.

The bend on the 6 o'clock arm is unusual, but other than that a perfectly good Deumer cross IMO. The unboxed L/11 is a harder variant to find.

My example, sadly a plain-Jane boxed L/11

I used to have a nice EK1 with a similar 'woof' in it Ade.
Turned out it had been dropped and the frame distorted relative to the core.

The reverse of Ade's lower arm area appears straight as a die so I wouldn't be thinking it's been dropped. More likely IMO the obverse frame was twisted prior to soldering in place around the core.

Here is an image I've had on file for a few years which should demonstrate the flimsy nature of the frames.


So this could well be simply an interesting case of poor quality control (perhaps Hans had a big night on the schnapps before schlepping up to work at Mr Deumer's fine EK emporium that morning)

On my one it had been struck below the step of the ribbing and that's how it was distorted.
