Gents, your assistance please, TR period not my bag, so advice required on this 1957 award box....is it wartime construction or made from left over parts ? in 57er terms it is very early...IMO earlier than the EK I that is inside the box, that is early 1960's made....a St u L produced EK I.....On the the reverse of the inside "pillow" there are stamped letters/numbers stamped .. I believe it conforms to a wartime made piece Steve but get a few more opinions first.

Hi Steve, the box is an original late war (the 'velvet' looks like the sprayed type). The maker mark on the box looks like 621KB which is Klein & Quenzer, Idar Oberstein, cheers, Richard.

Hi Steve, K&Q made boxes for other suppliers to use. So a 57er could be put in a 'old stock' box I suppose,

    Cheers,

    Richard.
