Nice! The collectors term for this is 'Vaulted'.
Some were vaulted at production stage and some were hand vaulted by the recipient so it would fit more snugly on the tunic

Welcome to the Forum, Sanya!
Nice vaulted cross indeed, I like the look of them and have a vaulted Imperial EKI in my collection...
Thanks for showing!
cheers, Glenn
Good to see you here too, Sanya! You've got a very nice cross with lots of character.
Thanks for showing.

Nick
Thank you for the warm welcome
Not having taken on the experiment myself (Im not THAT mad), I wonder how pliable they were/are.
A downer to suddenly have been too eager in the bending/curving process - OUCH!
Without having an iota of knowledge about how to go about putting a vaulted shape to one of these, I assume they put it on a curved shape or maybe did it freehand.
Further more, the trick must have been to to apply the pressure a bit away from the center where the 'arms' of the cross meet, so as not to put too much of a strain on that spot.
I understand but this piece is pretty normal there is no pressure on flexion
I bought it when I saw
I've seen a lot of ugly piece exaggerated curve
