Hello HGD. Is the core magnetic? My concern is there's no apparent visible seam around the perimeter. But I believe the maker is or is trying to be Otto Klein? Perhaps search for other crosses from this maker and compare. Best regards.
Brian
Edit: It should not be magnetic as it appears to have a brass core
Yes Magnetic. There does seem to be a seam when viewed with a magnifying glass
I think the pic makes it look brass, I don't think it is.
If it s magnetic then yeah it's definitely not brass. The seams are usually visibly seen w/o magnification but that's not definitive. The reverse almost looks Ike an anodized finish but I imagine too that's probably due to the photograhs. I did find one reference that did list Otto Klein as a EK1 maker but I'm finding it difficult to locate another example.

Otto Klein made DKIS and DKIG but not EKI.
This is a Floch fake.

I found a couple of lists, albeit online, that says they did. What is your source?
Floch EKi mm 134 - Wehrmacht-Awards.com Militaria Forums
Plus, any other data base that I access does not include EK I by Otto Klein.
