what can one say!.
i left this one with a friend for a few months. he stored it in a metal ammo box in a closet in his bathroom where it was subjected to humidity from all the showers he took. it came back with slight tarnish on the reverse that was not there before.
the obverse, thankfully, remained as nice as it ever was.
i try not to think about it because i start fantasizing about strangling him whenever i do.
he's a nice guy. just takes too many showers.
Nice. Great cross - like one I used to own !
I don't know if people still collect vinyl LP records, but I lent a very rare Canadian pressing
of 'The Yardbirds' ( 1966 ) to a buddy for about six months, before I found just how rare
it actually was. Got it back all scratched up and worn - barely playable. Just goes
to show, don't lend stuff that is valuable.........!

as to why i would "loan" this guy a cross? he's 25 and not in a position to collect these things but he's absolutely fascinated by them. when i open one of these cases for him, it's like that briefcase scene in Pulp Fiction.
so we have this thing where i give him a few pieces and he studies them for awhile and asks questions and learns. it's sort of like a library: he comes over, looks through the collection and if he sees something he really likes he takes it for a few weeks or a few months. probably feels like he has a collection even though he does not. probably like any other collection but the pieces are always rotating.
anyway gentlemen, i'm in the states over here with people over and Thanksgiving breathing down my neck, so you all have the best of days. thanks for the comments on these couple of crosses today!
Happy Thanksgiving - have a good holiday.........!
Regards,
Steve.
1966 Yardbirds original LP??
that's it! i'm gonna strangle this friend of mine. for you AND for me.
Classic K&Q set, nice all round in spite of the tarnish on the reverse. It doesn't detract too much and surely won't affect value.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
