Eisernes Kreuz 1st Class with case

Hi everyone,

Some of you might know I stick to german helmets mostly but I am starting to get into medals. This is my first on, with more to come.

Iron cross 1st class in case, makers mark "15". What do you think guys?

Looks very nice, interesting how the core has shifted to place the '1939' up against the frame...maybe this is typical of a Friedrich Orth?

Cross and case are nice, textbook.
Date not perfectly centered could happen with some other manufacturers. I don't know if really typical for Orth.

It's a nice set! Notice the 'pimple' in the middle of the top edge between the beading and the flat part of the frame. Common to see from Orth, it's where the suspension ring would've been located if the frame had been used on an EK2.

Thanks for the replies guys, glad its a good peice. Been researching before I bought. So many fakes out there its not funny, good to get positive feedback though
