Article about: Here is a Juncker look-alike, also called Lug variant by some. The maker is still unknown. A good quality cross IMO, a pitty there is a rust spot near the swas though. Enjoy!

    A nice addition Ingrid

Has it been repainted or is that the sheen from the photo ?

Thanks Nick. It doesn't look repainted to me. A nice matt black core.

Interesting cross Ingrid, thank you for posting. On the top left outer corner looking from the front, it that a scratch or a mis-stamp/die flaw?

    That's a good size scratch...

I actually found a thread about my cross on WAF a few minutes ago, these are better photos: ek2 Junker? - Wehrmacht-Awards.com Militaria Forums

What are the characteristics why this is called the ”lug variant”?

    Thanks

There is a 'lug' on top of the frame that the suspension ring attaches to. Several other makers have one of these, Wachtler & Lange, Juncker to name the most common but all the other 'lug' crosses can be identified to makers. This one cannot.
