Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse original or not?

is this iron cross original. i found it it has the numbers 55/ or 65 not sure. to me the " ribbon" looks to new. if it is whats the avarage price range for one of these to pay.

It certainly looks original but I would suggest it is neither a '55' or a '65'. Can you post any straight on front and back shots and also one of the makers mark please?

these are the only shots i got from the seller at this time, he told me its either 55 or 65:



all doesn't it look a little "too new" to be an original 1939 - 1941 piece?

Actually, the more I look at it, the more I doubt it's authenticity. Those small 'x's on the inner corners are not a good sign, they are found on fake crosses.

Not sure either. The date on the back looks like it might be a '27'?

Unless you can get the shots I asked for from the seller I would err on the side of caution and find another.

I doubt thats original. But it is a great memoribilia peice to have. They say that there were 4million iron cross awards made. How many actually existed early-post war ?

I don't think a potentially fake cross or any award could be termed as 'a great memorabilia piece'.

A fake is a fake, it has no relation to the war or as a memento of the war. An original EK is a great piece of memorabilia a fake definitely isn't.
