Re: Eisernes Kreuz ID; Which Class?
Exactly as Kenneth says! All are original awards. There is a makers mark on the Kriegsverdeinstkreuz, is it '122'?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Actually, I do have the ribbons...They were loose in the bottom of the box...

Re: Eisernes Kreuz ID; Which Class?
Thanks for all of the assistance...This is pretty exciting...I am preparing a small display of my dad's WWII stuff and now I can label these medals with confidence...(Even using the German terminology!)
I do have one problem, though...I'm afraid I might have caught some sort of bug...I really want an EK 1st Klasse now!
How would I go about even beginning to search for one? Don't want to get ripped off!
Oh, this is bad, very bad....
Thanks again,
Steve

Yes, it is. There is no cure......
Anyway if you spot an EK you are interested in, post some pics on the forum first.

Re: Eisernes Kreuz ID; Which Class?
Hi Steve and welcome to the forum.
Nice medals
I was wondering did your dad ever tell the story of how he acquired these during his combat days ? And did he bring back anything else?
Merry xmas
