Hi Steven and welcome to the forum.
The guys have pretty much answered your questions so there is nothing much to add except for another request for some clearer photos to establish originality and also the maker if it is original. Some EK holders removed the paint from the swastika to make it stand out more, sometimes this happened after the war too by collectors/owners of said cross if that's what they wanted to do with it. Obviously doing this now is frowned upon as most people nowadays like to maintain the original look of the cross.
It would also be useful to see the ribbon too, I'm not keen on the look of it from the photo above but that could be down to the flash. There is a pinned thread in the main Orders and Decorations forum with some hints on how to take some better pics.
