These reference books don't come cheap, These are the ones I am aware of.

The Iron Cross of 1939 by Gordon Williamson
The Iron Cross a history 1813-1957 by Gordon Williamson
The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross by Dietrich Maerz
The Iron Cross 1. Class by Dietrich Maerz and George Stimpson
The Iron Cross 1813, 1870, 1914 by Frank Wernitz
Iron Cross Award Documents of World War II by Brian Razkauskas

I also know that Dietrich is currently working on a Ek2 reference book (the one I am most excited about) but it won't be out until 2016

For RK this is the best book, The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross by Dietrich Maerz. For ek1 this is the best book, The Iron Cross 1. Class by Dietrich Maerz and George Stimpson. Currently there are no books on ek2.
