    This unmarked EK2 looks like it has been made using the cheaper Gablonze method, where a wire is wrapped around a template and then stamped with a die as opposed to a piece of sheet metal.

    I would suggest that if no traces of solder can be seen it is likely to be a Gablonzer made cross. From experience, these are the crosses that commonly come apart. Paulmann & Crone EKs seem prone to it.
