    hey fellas!

just had a question, is there any way to detect when a ek 2nd class was made? if the ek has no markings, is it safe to say it may be a late war piece? or is there no point asking this question because it would be like asking which individual wore my m35 helmet?

how come marked ek's command a higher price?

here are two pics, one of the ek im thinking of purchasing and a wounded badge. can anybody help authenticating them? thanks guys!

Hi, general rule of thumb is if no markings its early war.

Your items look good ! The EK2 is a Souval

You're looking at them on a very respectable website which coincidentally I've just purchased an EK2 from good choice my friend!

Different makers had certain details that are clear on their examples. Take a look at the various threads concerning EKs here on the forum, and you will soon learn how to spot a few of them. It takes a long time however, to be able to recognise most or all of them. Guys on here such as Adrian or Nick, who kindly replied above, are very good at recognising the different makers but that kind of knowledge isn't acquired overnight. Be patient, and use the forum.

    p.s. Nice EKII there!

The wound badge is a very worn, but original 'black grade' in tombac/brass.
Some collectors prefer them being 'salty'. I don't mind them looking
    like this either.........!

Here you go, take a look at the following thread and you will get an idea of how to identify a Souval cross......
