EK II: Original or fake?

Can somebody give me a little bit more info about this cross?
I'm not sure or whether it's fake or real.

Looks as if its been painted.

The guy i bought it from told me it was 100% original.
It came together with a Wehrpass from the same soldier, i really hope its not a copy.

Can you explain why you think it's fake or why you would think that?

While all opinions are welcome, even wrong ones, guessing is not really an opinion and making a guess followed up by a 'not sure though' isn't the most helpful comment. People have missed out on buying a perfectly good item based upon comments such as this.

If you don't know, don't guess. If you think you know and can explain why you're come to a conclusion then please share it as even wrong conclusions can be educational.

That's a good price. Have you checked the ribbon ring for a makers stamp?
