    Default EK II unidentified mark

This has just a triangle shaped mark on ring. I can not see any numbers even with a glass. Also could not zoom in very much. Any Idea who made it?
    Thanks

    Hi Brian,
It is a mis-stamp and there is a number there in incuse relief, I can make out two digits, unfortunately I can't make out which digits they are on the monitor here at work and I don't recognise the maker off the top of my head. Hopefully one of the other guys can help out.

It looks like '26' to me. Give it a rub with your finger a bit
to lighten the characters. '26' is Klein & Quenzer...........
    Regards,

    Steve.

    BH Mayer - '26' didn't make EK2s, only EK1s, Klein & Quenzer is maker '65'.

Thank you to Fabri who has correctly pointed out, Mayer did make EK2s but only marked L/18, extremely rare crosses to find.

I did rub it off with my finger - it is a 23. bottom part of the "2" is cut off a bit. But the 3 is clear.

    It's not a #23, but in my opinion a #123.

With the rounded corners on the frame I agree with Sonny, a '123' - Beck Hassinger.

You nailed it guys! The numbers are usually cut off on this stamp.

    Good cross

This maker had two ways of marking their EK2s. An ordinary stamp and an incuse stamp (as above) where the digits are in raised relief, the latter being the more rare to find. Here are the marks on my examples to demonstrate what I mean. You will note the incuse style here is also slightly mis-stamped with the bottom half of the numbers missing......
