    Default EK1 Collecting

    I was curious to know if any forum members had a complete maker marked 1st class collection, i am going to concentrate on these from now on. I have put a target list together, which are;
1,3,4,6,7,11,15,20,24,26,65,100,107,L10,L11,L12,L1 3,L15,L16,L18,L19,L50,L52,L53,L54,L55,L56,L57,L58, L59. I have also seen the makers 8,21,25 and 52 on some lists but can't find any examples any where.

So far i have four crosses from the list, so i have a lot of collecting yet to do. But im young

Can anyone tell me if this list is correct/complete?

    Many Thanks

    Rory

    Hi Rory,
Take a look in the 'Useful Reference Links' thread which is pinned to the top of the main Orders and Decorations page. There is a link to the Eisernes Kreuz 1st Klasse Reference Site.

The guy who put it together - Stefan, I believe has collected an example of every maker and variant of EK1 and put them all together in one place for collectors reference. You should be able to get your comprehensive makers list from there.

Oh - and good luck with the collecting!

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Thanks for the reply Adrian, yes its a brilliant site i use it alot for reference. I see he is missing the pkz 21, and i cant see any other examples so i think ill leave it out of the list, unless i get lucky

    Cheers

They all look great together Nick, at least i have an idea of what my collection could look like.

Have you considered displaying them in a frame? Im on the look out for one that would fit all the maker marked examples, so i can make the labels out and put them in correct order etc. and put the crosses in place as i get them

    Cheers

That would be good to do Rory, it would look very impressive !

This Schinkelform is missing from my photo as it is my latest addition. You must get one of these into your collection !

Thats what i hope to do any way Nick, when i get the right case and have modified it etc. i will post pics.

And to be completly honest Nick im not a big fan of the Schinkelform, but it would be good for the complete set, ill see how i get on with the mm crosses first, and if im not broke by then lol
