Ek1, Fake?
Hi, got this Ek1 today. Bought it with some other military "junk" (swedish, soviet). It didn't cost me much so I thought it was worth the risk.
It's marked "51", which I've heard is a fake MM. Just want to confirm that it's fake...

Re: Ek1, Fake?
Hi Anton, an interesting find you have!
Maker 51 Eduard Goriach & Sohne did not make EKs. Also IMO the beading doesnt look right

Yeah, It's a shame it wasn't marked "1" instead.
Well i'll throw the junk in the trashcan were it belongs!

I would say it's bogus as well, but give it to a young person
who may be interested in militaria - don't just toss it out !
Some guys use these for re-enacting too.......

Re: Ek1, Fake?
I'm guessing it's a one piece cross?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Re: Ek1, Fake?
Yes, it is. East european fake?

Re: Ek1, Fake?
Quite possibly. Either way I would say it's a fake.

Re: Ek1, Fake?
I spoted one of these fake mm 51 crosses over the weekend in an antiques shop, along with another cross which was marked with japanese markings. Both were one piece and of poor quality.
Just to confirm would there be any origional crosses which were one piece? Just as this is one of the first things i check for in identifying a cross.
Thanks
Rory
