Whats the number on the pin Gib ? Is it a 98 ? The pin shape looks a bit different to what I know

looks like 8 to me nick but its good.

this pin set up was used after the war and during it. maybe someone can tighten up my knowledge a little here, but i personally have no way of knowing whether this cross is post war or not for sure.

it is a good Souval cross.

case is also good.

wish i could see it better. can't see that mark. also, maybe a dipping 3 core here. anyone seeing that?

Nick, these are the photos that the seller sent me.

About as differentiate Souval Pre-1945, I was told that a brand is the burr in the area where the image frame, that line in the undulations means PRE-1945.

I think a good piece of wartime with your box?

As with any Souval product you have to be slightly cautious as with a cross like this there is no way of knowing if it was made before May 1945 or after.

My opinion is that the cross and case are both wartime made pieces. I would like to see a pic of the makers mark if possible but the features indicate this one stands a very good chance of being good.
