    Anyone know what maker this unmarked EK2 is please?

    It looks like a standard S&L type Nick. Several manufacturers used this frame so unless there's a makers mark, impossible to identify to a specific maker.

    No, they both used different frames and cores. I've attached a couple of pics below of an S&L and a K&Q with a couple of the main identifying features (that I look for) highlighted which may help to identify the differences.
