Funkmeister is equivalent to Feldwebel, or in the US Army, Staff Sergeant (E-5 pay grade).
The doc is signed by Freiherr von Gablenz Commander of 384 ID , The Divison was involved in Fall Blau in Summer 1942 in Southern Russia until it was trapped in the Stalingrad kessel , Von Gablenz was flown out of the Kessel in early december 1942 with his HQ staff, the rest of the Divison remained in the Kessel and perished with the rest of the 6th Armee , nice piece of history !!

Award documents are great to add to a medal. They really complete the look. I like this one and how the EK ribbon is across the top corner. Great grouping. Thanks for showing.
General Gablenz was also a Ritterkreuzträger. Ritterkreuzträger Eccard Freiherr von Gablenz
Infanterie-Divisions-Nachrichten-Abteilung 384
Formed on 10. Januar 1942. In January 1943 the unit was destroyed in Stalingrad.
Newly reformed on 19. Mai 1943 in Belgium and Northern France. The unit was destroyed in August 1944 in Southern Ukraine.
Replacement unit was Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 4.
