EK2....who manufacturer is?

Article about: Hmm. Tricky one. Not a '122' for me. I've had a look at a few of mine and I can't find a decent match, I've come close with a '27' and '52' but I'm not convinced with either.

    Maker '44' is Jakob Bengel - Idar/Oberstein.

Please check the following thread for a list of makers and their numbers: PKZ and LDO numbers/makers.

EK2s were issued in an envelope as below but privately purchased pieces could be bought in a hard case. Sonny has one or two of these, hopefully he might post one if he reads this thread.

Can you post some photos of it?
Generally speaking the private purchase or LDO crosses in an original case command a premium price especially if the markings on the case match the markings on the cross. This doesn't always happen of course, neither item may be marked or the cross and case have been married together since the war or you can get a fake cross in an original case and vice versa.
