    Default Fake 1 Piece EK2

A friend of mine has this EK2 and believes it to be genuine. I, on the other hand, believe this to be a cast fake. You can see the cast line on the ring attachment (see photo) Please give me your opinions so I can forward them to my mate. He doesn't usually bother with medals as headgear are his thing. Thanks for your help.

Hard to tell how many pieces it's made from from the pics but if, as you say, it is a one piece, then it is indeed a fake. One piece EK2s do exist but this isn't one of them.
    Best Regards,
    Adrian.

In fact, I think it's a original cross. I know that 3 on the reverse from somewhere, but can't ID the maker right now..
I could be wrong, of course..
    Best regards,
    Sonny

I'm sure this is a 1 piece guys. I have it in hand and cannot put a scalpel blade tip between the core and beading because there is no gap. The gap you perceive is in fact paint from the core.
Also you can see the casting line goes over the ring on top as well. The line between what is supposed to be the two halves stands slightly proud and there is no gap between inside corners of the beading and swastika. Core is non magnetic.

Tom, are you sure it isn't a three piece cross that has had the core repainted and therefore the gap between frame and core is blocked with paint?
