Re: Hi again! Real or fake on this cased EK1 marked 26
Agreed, and personally i hope the hoard story is true. I just think that if I was faker and had spent the time and effort to create a perfect fake that it would be difficult to flood the market all of a sudden without creating a hoard myth to authenticate the sudden arrival of many fresh examples.
Like we are told so often...'don't buy the story'... even now there is controversy over the Russian Horde story, I've read they were found in a warehouse, a train carriage, an old supply dump...what is the truth? It just seems odd that in 65 years with the Russian economy being strained at best over those years that no-one has sniffed out every box of unclaimed goodies in all the warehouses, train carriages etc. Perhaps they were held in a military depot of some sort and liberated by an enterprising officer of the falling Soviet Union? That could be plausible but of course...no-one knows for sure.

No, no, the perfect fake would coust more than an original to the manufacturer...

Don't forget the Deschler Hoard was just sitting in an attic in a town for 70 odd years before anyone paid it any heed!
Makes you wonder what else is out there.........?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
