Iron cross,need of help

Hi there, I have a little problem .I wonder if one of you clever guys can help me with info of a Iron cross from 1941.I know it's hard to explain how it lookes ,but I am really interested of what the signs of it stands for.

Well ,it's an iron cross black & silver with 2 sabers crossing, and on the top there is a sign "5"on the lest side the sign is " KOHO. On the right the sign is "HOB", and on the bottom is a sign "1941",.
Maybe this is a copy, i am not sure , but I would be more than happy if I could get any kind of info of this cross, What the signs means , and who was wering this cross. P.S Sorry for my poor English , Greetings Roger -Sweden

Thanks Ade for the quick aswer,and also the great info, Very interesting to read.I can see right away that the one I have is a copy,I found it in a jacket many years ago,from a second hand store in Hamburg-Germany,
