    Just added this lovely L/59 Alois Rettenmaier into my EK1 collection!

    Notice the typical low swas

    Nice clean example Nick with the S&L standard frames typical for this maker.

    Thanks Adrian ! You cant see from my pics but it has the circle in the top of the frame where it was perhaps earmarked to be an EK2

    Yes, I can see where it is, is there another mark on the reverse to the left of the screw fitting?

    Not entirely sure Nick. There is one particular maker who added extra marks to their EK1s, moon shapes, wavy lines etc. I have a feeling it might be L/59 but I can't remember exactly who it was. Fabri is the man to answer that question!

    Yes you are right a member on WAF says they were stamped with different symbols

    Just looked in Gordon Williams book, and it states that these were possible quality stamps.

    The example in his book is stamped with a tiny swastika!
