My first EKII (55)

Article about: Wow! Looks hammered!

I don't own a lot of Third Reich medals, maybe a dozen, and this was the very first one I bought. It seemed pretty rough, but it was marked. I paid 65 euros for it, is it genuine, and if so, did I pay too much for it? Thanks gents!

Looks like a really nice start. Is there a name on the back of the packet?

A fine '55' Hammer. I believe that the Hammer u. Sohne name should be on the reverse of the packet, is it so?

Unless Heinrich Vogt is one of the unknown makers of EKs I would suggest the packet is a fake. Can you post a pic of the reverse please?

Thanks fellas! I was worried about its appearance. Adrian, I don't know if Heinrich Vogt was a myster maker of EKs or not, but Reichsverband Arbeitsgemeinschaft Heinrich Vogt of Pforzheim was THE most prolific maker of Hindenburg Crosses, if that's any help. At any rate, even if my issue packet is fake, at least mein Hammer is not!

I've just done a quick bit of research and could find very little about Heinrich Vogt. I learnt they made alot of meeting badges and not many, if any military awards. I could find nothing with their PKZ number on it.
Looking at the construction of the above packet I really don't think it is of wartime production. The folds don't look good, and the bottom right hand corner where the two folds meet is unlike the only other envelope I found from this maker. Couple that with the very unlikely printing on the front and that's what makes it a fake for me. That number '2' looks like it was put on with a felt tip and the random black blobs in and around the wording is not what I would expect to see.
But as you say, ihr Hammer ist gut!
