    Hi all.

I'd like to get some opinions on this case (disregard the EK1 inside the case, I'm only interested in opinions on the case itself). Is this case for a Knight's Cross, and is it authentic based on these photos? I know the photos aren't great, but let me know your thoughts based on these if you can, and if you need more photos I can get them...

Thanks Harry. I'm on the fence with this. I've owned an RK before, with a beat up case that didn't really provide enough for study so I can't really say I know what I'm looking at here. Hopefully others will respond as well.

I'd say "could be" but the photos could use some help.

Thanks Sarge. I should have the box in hand in a couple days and will take much better photos when I get it. I'll post them for further analysis then.

Ok gents, I have some better photos. See what you think about the case now. I ran a black light test on it and the only thing that glows is the very edge of the white paper border surrounding the bottom black velvet insert. Not sure why just the edge of the paper would glow and not the surface of the paper. I've never black light tested period paper before so maybe this is normal (did they use bleach when making paper in the 40s?).

    Here are the new photos...

I would tend to agree and I can't put my finger on exactly why.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Now that I have it in hand and have been able to inspect it, I agree that it is post-war. That said, it seems to be very well made and be very true to the original case quality and craftsmanship (for the most part). Any idea what reproduction cases like this one would sell for to a collector who simply wants a placeholder until they can find and afford a real case? I would think it has more value than one bought new from an online store since this one does show some age, etc. Thoughts?
