New EK2 Marked "93": Opinions?

Hi, all. I just saw this latest EK2. I looks good to me and to be in nice condition. The only odd thing I noticed is that the "1" in 1813 seems a bit obscured and shifted to the left...kind of as thought the core is a bit off center? The price is also a bit high at $145 I thought. Curious what you guys think...anyone have any thoughts on the cross and/or the maker "93" for Richard Simm & Sohne Gablonz a.d.N.?

Hi Adam,

I like these crosses, which, like '24's can feature quite wide frames (mine is actually wider than on my '24').
That looks like a fine example of the maker. The core has probably just shifted a little in the reverse photo, but otherwise no problems with it, although I agree with you , the price is a little high.

Numbered EK's are being sold for between £85-95.

The days of really cheap crosses, have long gone

I can only concur with the other guys opinions, nice cross, and a fairly scarce maker to find. As Danny has mentioned, the frame on crosses from this maker are often very wide.
The price is at the top end of the range, they can be found cheaper of course but when might you find another '93'?

John is right you will have to look very hard indeed to find a nice maker marked for less than £85

Thanks for all the replies, guys and for sharing your example Snni...very nice I went ahead and ordered it. Yes, it is the most expensive EK2 I have purchased yet, however I really do like the cross aesthetically and I think it is a worthy investment as a piece of history and being from a scarcer maker. I'll take my own photos when it arrives an post them here
