Article about: I want to buy an Iron Cross so i got this offer. The seller doesn't know if it's an original one or a fake one. He also sells some copies of iron cross as well as some other original medals.

    Yes, welcome. As Nick says, this is a fake cross. Try a search for '51' and you will see a few more.examples.

    Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    There are plenty of EK1s about, if you find another, pleaae post it for opinions before spending any money.

    Hello there,

    A reproduction that has been out for some time now, and typically found with the mark of "51" on the reverse pin. A fairly good quality "filler" but that's all its good for, and certainly not as good as the "Floch" fake. I would say between this and the Floch fake, they are the most commonly encountered reproduction EK on the open market today, so it is a must for any collector to familiarize themselves with these two fakes and how to easily identify them.
