Question about Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse's
Hello guys,
I have a question regarding the 1939 EK2. My brother was a collector years ago, he actually got me into collecting Third Reich items,he said that he had a silver EK2. So did the actually produce EK 2's in silver? He has asked me to find him one and not knowing a great deal about the EKs I just wondered if my search would be in vain?
Thank you for your help.

He probably meant the frame was silver although not being a 3rd Reich collector myself, I may be mistaken.

Yes that was what I was referring to. I just wasn't sure if the manufactured them in silver, although some do tarnish and look like silver does when it tarnishes.

Frames of the TR era are usually made out of nickel silver ("neusilber"), an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel. I don't know of any TR cross with silver frames? Imperial yes, TR not sure.....
