Default Relic Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse restoration

A few months ago I bought this relic Iron cross first class from a Polish relic hunter. I got it for a good price, and by looking at photos of it I thought it could clean up some.

After spending a good amount of time carefully working on it, I now have a much more presentable EK1. In this case it seemed the rust from the iron core had spilled out and covered sections of the German silver frame. As these frames don’t rust, I assumed under the grime there should still be a nice shiny frame. In the end this proved to be true. The frame cleaned up very nicely, and I was also able to get the iron core in a more presentable state as well.

Here are some before and after photos. Hard to tell it’s even the same cross.

    Best regards- Jarret

Hey Jarret nice work, to avoid using the difficult german spelling, use acronyms instead.

Thanks for moving it to the correct section.

I'm a bit confused why the title was retyped though. I used the term "EK1" That's the correct acronym for Eisernes Kreuz 1 isn't it?

    Best regards- Jarret

Great job Jarret. Looks great cleaned up. I typically don't collect relics but this one looks nice and I would have this on my shelf.

If you have read the thread, it does not say to use the correct terminology or, "acronyms".
I suggest you follow the rules, not Rene's advice.
