Nick's right. No way's it a Juncker. Even with my limited knowledge of RK's/EK's. Stewy

Not genuine - but I cannot afford a real WWII RK,
so I'd settle for a quality repro/fake like this
one if it were cheap enough.........

A fake commonly referred to as the 'Rounder' from the rounded inner corners.

    Adrian,

You have just reminded me of the 'Rounder' fake RK's that caused major upset (and embarrassment) in the collecting community a few years back - I wonder where they all went? I haven't seen one for sale anywhere in ages.

The cross in this thread is different, it has become known as the 'New Rounder' - IMO not as convincing as the original 'rounder' seen here:

You are quite correct Danny, the 'Rounder' term applies to most of these awards with overly rounded inner corners. Perhaps the one in the opening post should be called a 'Latvian Rounder'?

Here are some more images of the fake RK that originally coined the term 'Rounder'.........

    Yes, that's the one.
I think I remember seeing that cross with the 'sanded' swastika!

Have you seen any of them for sale lately?
    They can't have all disappeared.

To be honest, I haven't seen any of the first type rounder for a few years. I guess collectors have become wise to them, sales dropped off, the collectors who do have them in their collections have kept them quiet, dealers are more clued up on them after the thousands of pages of discussions about them, better fakes (and worse) have come onto the market........ Who knows - but they have gone underground - or so it seems!
