    Hi everybody,
I'm looking at this Iron Cross with Oakleaves and Swords with the potential of buying it and want to know if it's real or fake? Also, how much would it be worth approximately? The seller has no idea himself and there is no 'history' with the medal.
Thanks! Is this Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwerten real or fake?Is this Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwerten real or fake?

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

Even from the poor photos I can see this is not good.

An original would be in the region of £20,000.

    Cheers, Ade.

No, it's not meant to be but I had to print screen from a site that doesn't allow you to copy the pictures directly. I think some detail has been lost by doing that.
The seller told me by mail that he had an offer for 500Euros, but on the site for sale the bidding has only reached 35 Euros!
I'm thinking that any genuine version would be worth a lot.

Thanks for your reply stuka f!

    Hi, my pleasure to help.

It is always a good idea to look at reputable dealers sites to get some idea of current market values.

Any item which is described correctly, but comes at a very low bargain price must always be looked at with great suspicion.

    Cheers, Ade.

As Ade says an original set like this would go for a large amount and is not seen that often on the collectors market , even from these photos this looks like the junk that gets sold on e bay all the time !!
