Spange to the EK1 - real or replica

Hello, I got this from a Finnish militaria dealer at the MAX show in Pittsburgh. I have found conflicting information on this item. First, Snyder's Treasures has one listed exactly like the one I have, but it was sold so i could not get an idea of the value. Second, I read on some forum that due to the lack of a "/" between the "L" and the "21" it is a fake produced in France in the early 80's. Any input would be greatly appreciated, as I do not wish to keep any fakes, repo's, replicas or questionable items in my collection. Thanks.

I would say this is a replica, lets see what the others think first though.

I think that may be a Floch fake, rounded eagles head, flat chest feathers, AND marked with L21.

This is what I figured. Thanks for the input, I'll have to find a suitable end for this piece to prevent it from surfacing elswhere.

Unfortunatley Snyders is know for selling fakes! I would advise extreme caution before purchasing anything from them

I did not realise that Snyders had a reputation! Like whats been said already, people use that site as a reference for their items. It goes to show that you cannot beat a good reference book and the knowledge of fellow collectors!

An easy starting point would e to check the manufacturers code. L/21 did not produce this clasp. Armed with this knowledge, you can walk away immediately. I find it useful to have a notebook with me when looking around that has info like this in it.
