The Unknown EK2 - #1.

Two new EK2s arrived into my collection today and I'm pleased to be able to share them with you.
The first one has been discussed numerous times on various forums with no definite conclusion as to the maker or origins.
There are a couple of theories though, that this is the product of C.F. Zimmermann (20) or perhaps a Godet (21) cross. These thoughts are based upon the dates and the similarities to the above makers. You will note the inner corners of the swastika are very distinctive, they are finished neatly with an angular (almost right angle) bead. In hand the quality is excellent, a heavy, fairly thick cross with measurements of: 44.25mm wide, 44.33mm high and 4.69mm thick.
As I said, no maker has been proven to have made these EKs so for now, this will remain a mystery.
If you have any thoughts I would like to hear them.

Adrian, the cross smacks of quality, I have been looking at Gordon Ws book and I can see it is Godetesque!

Interesting observation on the inner corners too.

There is something enchanting about these unknown makers. You have two really nice purchases there Adrian and its a pleasure seeing them. I only wish they were in my hands

The quality is very hard to see from my photos but the cross has the solid feel like a Deschler or a thick Round Three.

Hmm, almost.. When I have my cross in the USB loupe, it looks the same..
The big flaw in the upper 3 o'clock are not on mine, but maybe mine is an early. Just a theory.
I think my picture are very bad.
Tell me some corners and I will make some extreme closeups..

Edit:
With a closer look, not all corners match, but some are very very close!
Maybe it is another variant by the same maker?
