    This type is sometimes called a Bombay bowler, and though it is a civilian made example, these were used in times of need. They were not normally used by the Italians, but they had a very similar version of the same basic form, though with a rounder brim towards the rear. The example on the link has probably been 'pimped', IMO.

    Yes, this type with the silver foil inner dome lining were only made in 42 and 43, according to info I have read on these and all the examples I have seen with this feature are dated to those years, including the example I own.
