Hi Ben,
Are those torpedoes in the picture of Tavronitis Bridge?
Thanks
Burt
Hi there Ben, hope you really like Crete, there're a lot to discover there, even mint cond. weapons of every kind and cal...
@ Burt, you are correct ; these are old empty torpedoes by Tavronitis bridge, painted the old vietnam camo as were the old strike jets of Hellenic A.F. (A-7 Corsairs and F-104s)
Best regards, Thanos.

Re: Battle of Crete Holiday 2012
Ben, I've been to the military base in Souda Bay twice back in the early 80's. Both times I was not used to wearing a hat since we never did at sea and I had just flown off my ship. So when I entered the bar wearing my hat I had to buy a round for the house. You would think I would have learned the first time as both were a bit spendy.

Many thanks for the pictures, you Italian were also on the island until 1943. I think. So, you can see their typical pillboxes.
