A slightly differant take looking at todays west news, the monument in wellington has been fenced off since 2006 through crumbling bricks and mortar,a grant was funded for 3 million but as of yet nothing has been done, the locals are agitated to say the least.especially as its the bicentenary, some say disgusted others too little too late.
    With Regards Jake.

this is a pre WW1 postcard in my collection, I have been told the tramway in the pic was built to carry in materials for renovation work for the centenary in 1915, these never took place following the outbreak of war.

    Nice thread

While I wish I could claim that this was earned at Waterloo, it was
awarded for actions in the war of 1813.

nice item, here's my St.Helena medal awarded many years later to veterans who had served in Napoleon's campaigns. the ribbon is not the correct one though.
