Battlefields on crete?
Hi! Me and my girlfriend just arrived on Crete. I'm looking for old war memorials, battlefields, museums and antique stores and markets that sell items from WW2, also possible digging places would be nice. I am not very well aware of the battle history of Crete. I'm currently staying in the city of Iapetra. Thanks

The german friedhof is west of the island in Maleme and in Sousa near Chania is a british cemetery.

There was very heavy fighting on and around Maleme airfield. Here's some useful info on the German cemetery and RAF memorial nearby.

Have a look at this link, try and contact my friend Sean Johnson, we were in the military together, he lives there now, he knows the area quite well and goes walking in the hills where the battles took place, tell him you know me
