in this fotos , replicas from original German plaques is writing in Greek in the first photos ''For the brutal murder of German paratrooper, alpinist and mechanic from men and women , children and priest and for the reason they resist to the Great Reich , destroyed 03/06/1941 Kandanos from its grounds so it will not build never again''

in second photo '' as retaliation from armed citizens,men and women because they murdered from behind german soldiers Kandanos is destroyed ''

and third photo'' Here was Kandanos.
It was destroyed for Atonement of murder 25 german soldiers ''

This is the village of Floria, it suffered the same fake as Kandanos unfortunately. One one side of the road there is the Greek memorial to the village and opposite on the other side of the road is a plaque for the German mountain troops fighting to take control of the village

in this first ''pride and honor to the brave defenders of motherland , who fell in the battles of Florion and Agrimokefalas , against Hitlerik conqueror in 23 May 1941''

the second ''fallen in patriotik wars''(in albania 1941)

the third '' executed from nazis , citizens of village Florion in 2ww''

Congratulations Ben...it looks the your trip to Crete was a success!!!.......amazing amount of items displayed throughout your visit there. I am very impressed with the untouched condition of the artifacts...which is as close one will get to actually being there during that time. Great Documentation Ben!!...I bet it was very Hot there. Looking at the landscape from the view of the window...makes me imagine the battles that took place there...something out of the Movie "Tobruk" and " Patton"
The Stuka pilot seat is in a class of its own.......LOL Ronnie nailed it with the scabbards being backwards. There must of been an SS officer down there during that time. Noticeably I see weld marks on the Type A variant center ramp chain connector of the SS dagger.....lol dont mind me,,just thinking out loud.

I would have to say the photos that you have taken will add greatly to the collector of the many things seen in this thread. Glad you had a good time and a safe trip. Nice to have you back too..Regards Larry

Cheers Carl & Larry, it was a good week, 38 - 40 degrees, good food, beer and Raki, and to boots museums like this and a good walk on the battle ground, my kind of holiday
