Basically, translates as a memorial plaque to a family taken by force from this house and murdered in KL-Mauthausen, as revenge for the Heydrich killing. No mention of the moving of the commemorative marker. The Sokol organisation (group games / sports associations) established the marker. The person listed (Václav Novák) was head of a Sokol. He is named as a victim, as are his wife Marie and their children Anička, Slaviček, Jindra and Václav Jnr.

    Great thanks Carl.

Yes the Novák family were all implicated in the Anthropoid Operation

After fleeing from the scene of the assassination attempt ( later successful of course ) on his bicycle, Jan Kubiš dumped his bicycle outside a Bata shoe shop and then took refuge in the home of the Novák family just down the road. He was later joined by Jozef Gabčík

Jan had been injured by the blast and his bicycle was covered in blood. The mother sent one of the daughters out to retrieve the bicycle but unfortunately was spotted by an informer in the process

See the shoe shop and apartment block below. The original Novák apartment is believed to have been demolished when the Metro system was being constructed and the plaque is now on a different apartment block, hence the question
