Default Memorials to the Missing - Other Countries

I'm not quite sure where to post this question, but as this section covers memorials, I thought it would be a good a place as any!

    My question is:

In the U.K., we have these (and other) memorials to the missing.

Royal Air Force MIAs are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
Polish MIAs are commemorated on the Northolt memorial.
American MIAs on the Wall Of The Missing at Madingley, Cambridge.

Do other nations have similar memorials?
I am particularly interested in finding out about those in Germany and Russia.

    Over to you!

    Many thanks in advance,

    Don

    Hi,

In Germany I think every settelment down to 'Dorf' which I suppose is a hamlet equivilent has a memorial which in these smaller Dorfs will usually incorperate both wars with KIA/MIA usually with Unit (local) and possible Battlefield/country.

They tend to be very well kept and well designed as are, I must add the allied War graves and memorials, better maintained than in UK!

I have one about 900m from my house in a small Dorf 800m North of Bergen(Wohlde) while the main one for Bergen is 800m South the surrounding villages all have them too. If you were to travel Germany and this was your interest you would not be dissapointed.

    Regards

    Jock

    Sorry,

RTFQ, I missread if you mean foriegn memorials within Germany then you will still not be dissapointed as there are a lot too in our area there is of course Belsen memorial but also a lot of memorials and graves to forced labourers and Russian PWs.
