A very well designed piece - the winged lion is a portrayal of the traditional Czech lion, with the added wings patently due to the RAF connection. Nicely photographed Lebus, thank you.
Other exibition in Kampa Island.

Yes, the exhibition for "Winton's Trains" (Wintonovy Vlaky, Cz) - marks Nicholas Winton's organised rescue of nearly 700 mostly Jewish children from Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia just before the outbreak of war. Sir Nicholas Winton is still alive, and recently celebrated his 105th birthday. Below is an image of the commemorative statue that stands in the main train station at Prague. A 2011 film, "Nicky's Family", is well worth watching.

These are great statues, I really like the RAF volunteer statue, whoever designed it came with a fantastic idea, it is simple but very effective.
good to honour the hero's.
I have to admit that I like the winged lion statue. Extremely well done and executed. Beautiful piece.

Hi,Any statue for the fallen is always a grand idea not to forget the past.
Hi, there should be a statue for the assassins who laid with their life's for TAKING OUT Reinhard HEYDRICH. Pics above show the last stand for the brave assassins, who were being flooded out by the Nazis in the crypt, they ended their own life's with a pistol to their heads.
(not forgetting the civilians who paid the price of retaliation.)
