Omaha Beach then and now

A couple of photos one taken by me at the same location on June 6th 2010 as the Robert Capa photo (US Solders of the 16th infantry regiment easy red sector Omaha Beach June 6th 1944) Also one superimposed on the other.

Only the one am afraid as capa only took a few photos on d day and difficult to pinpoint exact locations this one is the only one I could find that I could locate today.

I went with my son a few years ago when he was 12 and we ran from the waters edge to the dunes and said to him imagine doing that 60 years ago with kit on and being shot at......I think the point was made.
