Regimental Museum,right next door!!

This museum is in the same building as the hotel I work in, so I decided to check it out.

There are some amazing items on display from the 1700s to Afghanistan today, with fascinating WW1 & 2 sections!

We were not supposed to take photos but I managed to take a few before the curator came, a stern ex Irish Guards Sergeant Major !

Missed pics of a couple of two pristine Maxim machine guns from the Falkland Island Defence Force of 1902 which were magnificent.

If anyone is coming up to York, let me know and we will visit

OHHH, i see a tropenhelm further back
Very nice Nick.
You have to get one of those James Bond camera`s and install it in your sunglasses.
You could take photos of all the displays.
Let the curator know that you are collector, he may want to display your pieces.

Iv'e been a couple of times when on business in York and fully recommend the museum. Well worth a visit as are any regimental museums doted around the uk.
